To keep your frame and fork from destroying each other in a mighty battle of friction, you rely on a headset. Our Feather Weight headset is one of the best for keeping your frame safe and steering smooth. We use a stronger aluminum alloy (7075) than what's commonly used and that means the Feather Weight headset can take more abuse without breaking. However, we didn't want to use too much of it because that would add unnecessary weight. We machine away all extra material making this one of the lightest headsets on the market.
But we didn't go to extremes just to drop weight. We kept the top and bottom seals that protect the bearings from dust, water, mud and sweat. That's in addition to the seals in the bearings themselves, which makes them double sealed. In the event that moisture does get into the bearings, we use stainless bearings so you won't need to worry about rust. We have tested the Feather Weight in all kinds of conditions on road and mountain bikes, so it's ready to take on whatever you throw at it, or whoever you decide to throw it at!! (Sometimes Ãâ€Å¾ÃƒÂ¯Ã‚¿Â½€ÃƒÆ’¯Â¿Â½The StacheÃâ€Å¾ÃƒÂ¯Ã‚¿Â½€ÃƒÆ’¢â€žÂ¢ gets upset when he hasn't had his morning coffee.)
Even under extreme conditions, your frame and fork will be safe from damage because the Feather Weight has 5mm of insertion which we refuse to reduce, just to save a couple of grams.
With all the time and energy we put into this headset, it would be a shame to have it look like any other headset. We take special pride in the top cap. First, we CNC, then sandblast and finally polish it to give it that little extra something. We also include a forged alloy bolt. It may be Ãâ€Å¾ÃƒÂ¯Ã‚¿Â½€ÃƒÆ’¯Â¿Â½onlyÃâ€Å¾ÃƒÂ¯Ã‚¿Â½€ÃƒÆ’â€Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚¯ a top cap but it's the fine details that make all the difference.
